Nap Time!

Steven still sleeps in the mini-crib and Hannah in the Bonner Bed (co-sleeper) in our room, but for the past day or two I've laid Hannah down in Steven's crib while working on sorting their clothes and she's taken one of her naps there. Today she fell asleep there and after lunch it was time for Steven's nap. He didn't realize she was in there, but I asked which bed he'd like to nap in and he chose the toddler bed. I laid with him and we read a couple books, then I sat on the floor (on the large red pillow) and patted his back until he fell asleep. It was fairly quickly, I was pleasantly surprised. (I did have to gently discipline him a number of times for talking and getting up from laying down.) He slept for 1 1/2 hours. Hannah woke after Steven had been asleep for about a half hour, but I was able to get her before she was able to disturb him. It was a fun first time to have him sleep in his toddler bed.
I think we'll try that for naps for awhile until he will stay in his bed and go to sleep without me staying in there - then we'll have him sleep there at night, too. By then, hopefully Hannah will be ready for the crib. She had one night of going 9 1/2 hours between feedings - I had to wake her to get ready for church - and the next night was 11 hours - I had to wake her because I needed her to eat :) . Now, she's back to about 4 hours stretches. Oh, well, soon enough. :)

Steven and Daddy's Books

Steven didn't know I was watching. He was picking up a book of daddy's off the pile, opening it up, pretending to write in it (in the front cover of a lot of his books there is the price written in pencil), turning some pages. Before I got the camera, he was trying to put the pencil in the book as a book marker, just like his daddy does. I had to stop the camera and scold him for touching daddy's books - especially with pencil in hand - but it was too cute to miss getting it on the camera! (Sorry about the poor lighting.)

Steven and the First Snow

Yes, it snowed last night!

Hannah

Will she like books just like her big brother?

Opening it...

Closing it...

Goodbye!

Grandma Engel

Steven was jumping out of her arms because he saw the camera and wanted to see himself on it.

Steven at the Audubon Center

Grandma Carr took us to the Audubon Center. Steven loved it! Heloves animals. He gets so excited and points while saying, "Ooh! Ooh!"

He was so excited he was pointing with both hands. :)

What I did last week...

Sewing Central here at the Carr house...
An order of 3 small, white diaper covers.

An order of 3 small (2 white, 3 brown) diaper covers.

Pair of black cord trousers for Steven.

White dress shirt and black cord trousers for a friend.
No picture - I hemmed some pants for my friend's son, too.
[Just don't ask me what the rest of my house looked like this week ;) ]

Our New Home

View from the entry way, looking up.

Our livingroom. My aunt provided all the furniture.
Looking towards the entry way from the livingroom. Steven loves the stairs. There's his beloved library book, bottom right.
Kitchen. View from the livingroom. We're swapping tables - this one has a glass top that's not tacked down. We're borrowing a wood table from my parents today.
Otherside of livingroom, view from the kitchen. My aunt even let us use her bassinet. So helpful when I want to keep Hannah out of Steven's reach (although he has climbed up it). Steven's playing with my glove pot holders. The first time he noticed me using them here he screamed and was afraid of them. Now he likes to put them on and chase me or vice versa.
My kitchen - sorry, picture was taken when we were still getting all settled - messy. :)

View from kitchen. Left door is a 1/2 bathroom. Middle door is the laundry room. Right doors are the pantry.

Downstairs 1/2 bath.
Laundry room. Blissful.

Hanging out at the tax office

My aunt picked this bouncy seat up for Hannah for when we're all at the tax office. Steven enjoyed it just as much!

He was very content just laying here, all relaxed.

Kisses!

Hannah!

Hannah is 3 Months Old!
