We had gotten rid of a lot of stuff before packing, but still couldn't fit it all in the trailer, truck and our car. Thankfully some of our friends are storing the remains of our things until Sven will pick them up this weekend (he's going to the Calvin conference). And even with that, we ended up packing our car full-full-full. I rode between our two kids in the backseat - with the passenger front seat full of stuff. It wasn't a bad ride, although my legs did get a little stiff (praise the Lord I wasn't pregnant, or I wouldn't have been able to take riding like that!)
Thank you!!! to all who helped us pack and load!!!
The kids traveled pretty well. Hannah still doesn't do too well trying to fall asleep in the carseat, but neither did Steven at 2 months.
I didn't do too much planning on the MN end for unloading the truck. It was a quick decision (moving to MN when we did) and we had about 1 or 1 1/2 months to plan. We basically got everything in order to at least get ourselves to MN. The day we arrived it was blazing hot and I hadn't lined up anyone to help us unpack, besides Steve's parents. So, Steve and Dad Carr and I unloaded, while Mom Carr was unpacking boxes inside. We were dripping from the heat. But, alas, it was all in and we were so grateful for Dad & Mom Carr's help!!
We are really enjoying our new home. It's a townhouse with a split entry. Steven loves the stairs, I love having a washer and dryer (no more handwashing diapers! I must admit it got hard to keep up with two in diapers!) And... I have my own sewing room! I'll post pics soon.
We praise the Lord for all his provisions! Steve had an interview the day after we arrived... and got the job! I've put in some hours at my aunt's tax office doing her accounting. I take Hannah with me, which is such a blessing!
Thank you for all your prayers as we continue to settle in and follow the Lord's leading.
